How students enrol in a Smart and Skilled course

To enrol in a government-subsidised Smart and Skilled course, prospective students need to:

  1. Check whether they may be eligible for government-subsidised training, go to the Are you eligible? page or Course Finder.
  2. Use the Course Finder to find a suitable course and the training providers offering the course, and to get an estimate of the course fee.
  3. Contact the training providers that offer the course to ask initial questions – this helps determine which training provider is best for them.
  4. Choose their preferred training provider
  5. Contact the preferred training provider to enrol.

Questions to ask when enquiring

When a student first contacts a training provider to enquire about a Smart and Skilled course, they should ask about the course details (e.g. where and how is it delivered), the enrolment process, their eligibility, their fees (including any concessions or exemptions), and any additional support the training provider offers. What to ask your training provider before you enrol.
